Nokia AtlasWhat with all the Windows Phone 8 announcements that have been coming from U.S. carriers these past few days, it’s about time that Verizon got in on the action. While the carrier has yet to make an official announcement, a leaked image from the Evleaks Twitter account has revealed a Nokia WP8 phone from Verizon.

The handset, codenamed “Atlas”, appears to be, like the Lumia 810 from T-Mobile that was revealed yesterday, a carrier-specific variant of the Lumia 820. Sporting a slightly different design than the Lumia 810, the Atlas has rounded corners, but the same 4.3-inch display. A front-facing camera is also clearly visible in the leaked image, but all other specs remain a mystery at the moment.

But if this is, in fact, a Lumia 820 variant, it’s probably safe to assume that it will also have an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and interchangeable casings that can provide the phone with wireless charging capabilities.

Previously leaked reports suggest that the Atlas may be named the Lumia 822, and inside sources have informed The Verge that it’s due to arrive in November alongside one of the only other Windows Phone 8 devices that has been announced for Verizon, the HTC 8X. No rumors yet about pricing, but stay tuned for an official announcement, which is rumored to come within a matter of days.
