LG eXpo: a Windows Phone with 1 GHz Processor, Pico Projector

The LG eXpo is a newly-announced smartphone that will offer a combination of high-end features not found in any other device. AT&T will release this model next week.

It will be one of the first to run Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional on a 1 GHz processor. In addition, it will set itself apart from the pack by using biometric security in the form of a built-in fingerprint scanner.

LG eXpoBut what really catches peoples’ eyes is the DLP pico projector. This will be an external add-on capable of projecting an image up to eight feet.

A Standard Design
The LG eXpo will have a sliding design, with a 3.2-inch, WVGA touchscreen, and a landscape-oriented sliding QWERTY keyboard.

This quad-band GSM phone will have tri-band 3G mobile broadband (7.2 Mbps HSDPA), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.

It will also sport a 5 megapixel camera with flash, a microSD/SDHC memory card slot, and a 1,500 mAh battery.

On top of the standard Windows Mobile user interface will be LG’s S-Class 3D UI.

Overall, this smartphone will be 4.5 inches by 2.2 inches by 0.7 inches.

Pricing & Availability
The LG eXpo will go on sale Dec. 7 through AT&T’s business channels. It will sell for $200 with a two-year service agreement and $100 rebate.

The pico projector — which will weigh in at 1.8 ozs — will be sold separately for $180.
