LG Electronics announced the beta opening of LG Cloud, an online multimedia file storage service that is geared to connect and stream all forms of digital content across various electronic devices.

The company is emphasizing that this will be the first cloud service available that will allow users to manage and consume multimedia content on Android smartphones, PCs, and smart TVs. Users of the service will be able to synchronize photos or videos that were taken on their smartphones to other media outlets instantly. Also, videos edited and created on a computer will be automatically sent to other services in the cloud. The service will also work with any form of HD content.

To get LG Cloud, users will need to download the app from Google Play or LG SmartWorld app store from their Android smartphone, LG smart TVs, or from their PCs or laptop via the LG Cloud website.

It will be offered as both a free and paid service when fully released. Free storage space and pricing will differ market to market and will be announced whenever the service becomes available in each country.

The beta version of LG Cloud will be available on May 1.
