Lonely Planet Content Now Available on Nokia Maps

Lonely Planet is a global travel information company which uses up-to-date maps combined with content from hundreds of writers, researchers, and photographers to create opportunities for travelers to get off the beaten track and understand more of the nature, culture, and environment in each destination.  A new partnership with Nokia now brings Lonely Planet content to the Nokia Maps application.

Nokia Maps with Lonely Planet content currently covers over 100 of the world’s most popular tourist locations. Lonely The guides include places to eat, shop, and sleep, as well as popular sights and nightlife for each destination.

Lonely Planet downloads are available now (EUR 7.99). The Guides section in the Extras menu of Nokia Maps contains the provided maps, which can be downloaded over the air (OTA) directly to selected devices or by using the Nokia Map Loader on a PC. These guides are compatible with Nokia Maps 2.0.

Nokia Maps 2.0 and the Map Loader is freely available for selected devices, however there may be a cost to implement advanced features and functionality.
