Nokia and Macromedia have just announced a licensing agreement that will integrate Macromedia Flash technology into the Series 60 smartphone platform.
Under this agreement, Macromedia will implement new versions of its mobile Flash technology on Series 60. Nokia has also agreed to support Flash in its other software platforms, like Series 80.
As part of the collaboration, Macromedia and Nokia will provide the necessary tools to let developers create Flash content for mobile devices.
This won’t be the first time that Macromedia Flash has appeared on smartphones, but this announcement is a significant win for Macromedia, as Series 60 is the most widely used smartphone platform in the world.
More information is available on the Macromedia web site.
