Today, MetroPCS joins the like of AT&T and Verizon Wireless in limiting its 4G data speeds for select plans after adjusting its pricing structure.
MetroPCS has increased the cost of their monthly unlimited plan by $10. The unlimited plan is now $70 a month, but includes unlimited talk and text, unlimited data and e-mail at 4G LTE speeds, and unlimited access to its Video on Demand and Rhapsody Unlimited Music service.
The carrier’s new $60 plan features unlimited talk, text, e-mail, and access to Rhapsody, but the carrier will deliver 4G LTE speed only for the first 5GB of data consumed. After the 5GB have been consumed, customers will have to use the carrier’s 3G network, depending on location and availability.
Meanwhile, the $50 plan now includes unlimited talk and text and LTE speeds for the first 2.5GB of data used. Their $40 a month plan, their cheapest, will deliver unlimited talk and text and 250MB of 4G data.
