Microsoft Office Mobile is now free to use for those with iPhone and Android phones. The software has previously required a subscription to Office 365, but that’s no longer the case.
Users can download the software from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Office Mobile allows users access to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents stored on OneDrive, OneDrive for Business or SharePoint. Users can edit, view comments, and share documents from their smartphones.
Documents recently viewed on a computer are easily accessible and formatting remains consistent across platforms. The app also includes support for charts, animations, SmartArt graphics and shapes.
Windows Phone users have long been able to use the free version of Office Mobile bundled with their devices, but Office for iPad that was introduced last week still requires an Office 365 subscription.
