Mobile2Market Are you a software developer with a Pocket PC application that you’re sure will rock the mobile world, but don’t quite know how to get it to market? Well, Microsoft’s Mobile2Market program was created for people just like you.

Mobile2Market is Microsoft’s logo certification and market delivery program for Windows Powered Pocket PC and Smartphone applications. It was designed to help independent software (and hardware) vendors reduce their time-to-market by streamlining development, certification, and deployment of their product. It also aims to connect ISVs to mobile operators worldwide through its Mobile Application Catalog.

The Mobile2Market Mobile Application Catalog is the place to go for Windows Powered Pocket PC and Smartphone applications. The Catalog includes information about each application, including a product description, system requirements, language support, and region availability. Users can either browse application by categories or search for specific applications based on certain criteria. In addition, the Catalog enables independent software, hardware and content vendors to showcase their top-performing applications — while providing mobile operators and retailers with a rich selection of applications certified through the Designed for Windows for Pocket PC/Smartphone Logo Program.

Microsoft is offering free logo certification for a limited time (a $500 value) for vendors that join the Mobile2Market program. Details can be found on Microsoft’s Mobile Developer website.

By connecting independent software vendors to mobile operators and retailers with its Mobile2Market program, Microsoft hopes to strengthen and develop the current marketplace for mobile applications.
