SanDisk Releases 8 GB microSDHC and M2 Flash Memory Cards

Memory cards are an ever popular means to expand on the abilities of mobile devices, and higher capacity memory cards are becoming available to enable this. SanDisk has announced the release of 8 GB microSDHC and M2 Flash Memory Cards. These memory cards are the smallest, high capacity memory cards available today and compatible with several cameras, smartphones, and PDAs.

In addition, SanDisk is beginning its “Wake up Your Phone” education campaign designed to raise awareness both of the presence of a memory card slot and of the benefits available to those who use it. With a high capacity memory card, consumers can ‘Wake Up Their Phone’ and use mobiles as a more capable lifestyle accessory.

SanDisk’s 8 GB microSDHC and M2 cards are now available in major retail outlets worldwide with suggested retail prices of $140 and $150.

To use the microSDHC card, the smartphone must support the SDHC (High Capacity) format, which not all devices with microSD card slots do.
