Let Your Friends and Family Find You with FindMe
Electric Pocket has just launched FindMe, which allows users to share their current locations automatically through their BlackBerry or Windows Mobile smartphones without needing a GPS receiver.
FindMe offers the ability to "tag" commonly visited locations, such as home, office, or favorite bars and restaurants, and have a note appear on a Facebook profile when the user is at one of these. The application doesn’t broadcast exact geographic information; only the names of locations are shared.
It runs on GSM Windows Mobile smartphones and all BlackBerry devices with trackballs. It doesn’t require a smartphone with a GPS receiver, as it uses cell tower location to determine its area.
More information on FindMe is available on the Electric Pocket web site.
