TeaShark Offering Free Webkit-Based Web Browser

TeaShark is offering a free beta version of its mobile browser. Similar to Opera Mini, this is a proxy-based browser and uses the Webkit3 rendering engine, just as the Safari and Nokia web browsers do.

Built on the Java platform, TeaShark is compatible with nearly any mobile device currently available.

Features include:

  • Tabbed browsing with page thumbnails
  • Saving of browsing history
  • Color tagging of bookmarks
  • Automatically parses phone numbers embedded within web pages
  • Integrates with native applications on some models

TeaShark also uses multilevel zooming, and can be used in landscape or portrait modes for easier navigating of web sites.

iambic’s EzQuote for BlackBerry Available

RIM BlackBerry users who wish to keep track of stocks and the stock market have a new option in iambic’s EzQuote. This offers a user interface designed around the ability to easily add, edit, and remove stocks. Google Maps for Symbian UIQ Mobiles Introduced

Google Maps is now available for Symbian UIQ mobile devices (Sony Ericsson and Motorola). This native version of Google Maps features the famed MyLocation feature.

UIQ is a touchscreen-based user interface for the Symbian operating system. It is featured on smartphones such as the Sony Ericsson W960i and Motorola Z8. Google Maps is designed to take advantage of using the touchscreen interface of these devices.

Y-Browser 0.88 Released for S60

For those managing more than just simple files on Symbian S60 devices, the program Y-Browser has been updated to version 0.88 and offers several improvements in performance and user interface.

Some of the improvements in this version include:

  • Reorganized settings menu
  • Command short-cut for menu items
  • File association settings
  • Plug-in manager added
  • Email folders view (with Mail folders plug-in) 
  • And more.

Y-Browser 0.88 is usable on S60 3rd edition devices (series 1 and series 2 devices are only supported to version 0.80).
