Opera Mini 4 Now Available as a Free Download

Opera Software has released a new version of its free web browser for mobile devices. Opera Mini 4 has a number of new features, including landscape mode and a virtual mouse.

It also allows users to view a whole web page on this mobile device as it would appear on a desktop PC, then zoom into view the parts they want. This browser also offers Opera’s Small Screen Rendering, which eliminates the need for horizontal scrolling.

Opera Mini 4 is a free download, over the air, to a phone from www.operamini.com.

 

O2 Launches the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 in the U.K.

The next-generation BlackBerry Pearl is now available in the U.K. from O2. The new version the BlackBerry 8120 — has the same general size and shape as the current one, but includes Wi-Fi, a 2 MP camera, and an externally accessible microSD/SDHC card slot.

Treo 500v Now Available in New Zealand and Malaysia

Palm’s first Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone is now available in two additional countries. Vodafone is offering this device in New Zealand, while Celcom is offering it in Malaysia.

The Treo 500v is this company’s first model without a touchscreen. It still, however, includes a full keyboard, 3G support, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot.
