Opera Mobile 9.5 Public Beta Now Available
Opera Software has released first beta of Opera Mobile 9.5 for Windows Mobile. This will be the first in a series of betas, as the company works to find and fix bugs.
The new version of this web browser is based on the same rendering engine as Opera 9.5 for desktop PCs, which means it will support the latest in Web standards.
To download this software, visit the Opera Mobile website. The beta currently will only work on Windows Mobile 5 and 6 smartphones with touchscreens.
This will be followed up by a version for Symbian smartphones at some point in the future.
LogMeIn Releases Beta Plug-In for Nokia Internet Tablets
LogMeIn has released a beta version of a browser plug-in that allows Nokia Internet Tablets to use its remote PC control service. This lets Nokia N800 or N810 users control a distant desktop computer as if they were sitting in front of it.
The basic version of the LogMeIn service is free, and so is the browser plug-in. It’s available now on this company’s website.
Version of HTC Touch Diamond without Faceted Back Casing Being Prepped
It appears that the faceted and angled back plate on the HTC Touch Diamond is disliked by enough people that a version with a flat back is in the works. Pictures of this device — supposedly named the HTC Victor — have appeared on PDA-King, a Japanese website.
Whether this device will be widely available is unknown.
