A streaming video service that has been available for several Palm OS devices for some time can now be used with Windows Mobile handhelds and smartphones.

MobiTV has more than a million paying subscribers and offers many popular TV channels such as MSNBC, ABC News Now, CNN, Fox News, Fox Sports, ESPN 3GTV, NBC Mobile, CNBC, The Discovery Channel, TLC and The Weather Channel, along with cartoons, music videos, comedy, and more. It also offers radio service.

The service works over a Wi-Fi connection or a high-speed cellular-wireless network, like EV-DO.

The Windows Mobile version of MobiTV offers a full-screen mode, a graphical channel guide, and D-pad and Touchscreen support.

Although there are both Pocket PC and Smartphone versions of this application, there are currently only five devices listed as supporting it: Palm Treo 700w, Sprint PPC 6700, Cingular 2125, Cingular 8125, and Motorola Q

MobiTV costs $10 a month, and is also available for many mobile phones.

More information is available on the MobiTV web site.
