As if their pace of new units wasn’t fast enough, Sony looks to keep things rolling with two new units. It’s only been a few days since the release of the PEG-SL10 and Sony’s back at it again.
Sony Clie PEG-SJ20
The SJ20 is rumored to be a monochrome unit with an identical screen to the SL10. The main difference is the inclusion of a rechargable battery, instead of the AAA’s that power the SL10. This unit will also drop the USB port in the SL10 and will have the T-series HotSync Port. Estimated Cost: $200
Sony Clie PEG-SJ30
The SJ30 looks to add a color screen that is said to be comparable to that of the NR series. It will also have a rechargable battery, will ditch the USB port and will have the T-series connector. Estimated Cost: $300
Both units will run Palm OD 4.1 on the standard 33MHz Dragonball processors. Memory is still unknown, but some suspect the SJ20 will carry 8MB while the SJ30 will have 16MB. If this rumor turns out to be true, which they usually are with Sony, this clearly marks the end of the line for the popular 300 series. Expect to see more price cuts on the Clie 360 in the next few weeks.
