Welcome to the monthly listing of the most popular handhelds and smartphones on Brighthand. This report is compiled based on the number of views each product page receives, so every time someone click on a product they’re giving it a vote in these monthly rankings.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about last month’s results was the strong showing made by smartphones. Seven of the top ten models were cellular-wireless devices, and all of the top four.

1. Motorola Q (Previously #8) – Its maker claims that the Motorola Q is “the world’s thinnest, lightest QWERTY phone”. It has a tablet design, with a 320-by-240-pixel screen above a backlit keyboard. In a slightly unusual move, this screen is in landscape mode by default. Motorola Q Reviews | Motorola Q User Opinions

HP iPAQ hw6900 Mobile Messenger (Previously #4) – This model greatly resembles one already being offered by HP, the hw6500, but offers some features not included in the hw6500, like Wi-Fi and the latest version of Windows Mobile. It does, however, lose a memory card slot, so it supports only miniSD cards. HP iPAQ hw6900 Reviews | HP iPAQ hw6900 User Opinions
