First, the ever-reliable @evleaks and TheUnlockr dropped a press render of the black version of the device on us, revealing the phone’s tapered shape and textured back. Shortly thereafter, @evleaks went on to drop a press image of the device, seen right and this time in white, giving us a closer idea of what the phone will look like in the flesh.
Meanwhile, Android Police went ahead and leaked in-the-wild images of the device showing off benchmark results and revealing that the Moto X will essentially be a mid-tier phone. The device images from the AnTuTu Benchmark indicate that the phone will be packing a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2 GB of RAM, and a 720p display. Other specs include 16 GB of onboard storage, NFC, a 10.5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.
Eager customers won’t have to wait long to find out if this bevy of Moto X information is true, as Motorola has sent out invitations to an August 1 press event in New York City for the device’s launch. We’ll keep you posted on the details once that day comes in less than two weeks.
