Motorola Droid RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD Now Available from Verizon
Per the announcement from last week, two new Android smartphones from Motorola, the Droid RAZR HD and the Droid RAZR MAXX HD, are available starting today for Verizon Wireless customers. These are qute similar, but offer shoppers some different options and price points.
Both phones are 4G LTE-enabled, with the RAZR HD going for $200 and the RAZR MAXX HD priced at $300 with a new two-year contract from Verizon. The RAZR HD is available in either black or white, but the RAZR MAXX HD is only sold in black.
The online phone retailer Wirefly is also offering these devices, and at prices below Verizon’s. The RAZR HD is $150 with contract, while the RAZR MAXX HD is $200 with contract.
More About These Droids
The two handsets have nearly identical specs — including a 4.7-inch 720p display, Android OS 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera, and NFC connectivity. There are differences, however: the RAZR MAXX HD has twice the onboard storage at 32GB and has a larger battery that Motorola claims provides 32 hours of “normal use.”
These are expected to eventually take the places of the original Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX.
