An image and many of the details on the Motorola Droid Shadow have leaked out of Verizon Wireless.
The leaked specifications list for the Droid Shadow also includes an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p video. The model will also include an HDMI video-out port with 1080p support.
A Google Phone
It will debut running Google’s Android OS 2.1 on a Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 processor, and an upgrade to the new Android OS 2.2 is in the offing.
The Droid Shadow will also allegedly include MotoBlur, Motorola’s software that brings together messages from a range of social-networking services like Facebook and Twitter, text messages, as well as consumer and business email accounts, into a universal inbox.
The smartphone will have a tablet shape without a physical keyboard, and will reportedly be around 0.4 inches (9 mm) thick.
All other specifications for this model remain unknown, but it’s likely to include the features that are typical in other high-end Android OS models, such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a GPS receiver, and a microSD memory card slot.
Coming this Summer
According to the information that has leaked out, the Motorola Droid Shadow is going to be released by Verizon Wireless in July.
The price hasn’t been revealed yet, but it will likely be close to what this carrier charges for similar smartphones: $200 with a two-year service contract.
