The Motorola MPx220 SmartPhone, which is to replace the Motorola MPx200, has seen the light of day in California! PhoneMag.com, whose editors actually flew to California to buy this phone, report that a single San Marcos CA Best Buy location had the MPx220 in stock and the release date for the rest of the country will be October 18 for this device.
Apparently Motorola signed a deal with Best Buy to soft launch this product in the Southwest area of the U.S., so if you live there you might want to keep your eyes open for the device. If you want to make a quick buck off of those on the East coast or the rest of the world then pick one up and put it on eBay!
Below is a shot PhoneMag.com took of the two Motorola MPx220 phones that they purchased, notice the 5 star model:
Features in the new MPx220 will include:
- Integrated 1.3 Megapixel camera with a 3x zoom, flash and self-portrait capabilities
- 64MB Flash ROM and a mini SD card slot for up to 512MB of Storage
- Global quad band
As you can see from the picture above, the MPx 220 has a silver shell that gives it a stylish and professional look. The camera feature is generally considered a consumer targeted feature, but according to the Motorola release this phone is indeed targeted at business and professional users: “The sophisticated model MPx220 gives users instant access to e-mail, the Web, advanced multi-media messaging service (MMS), global quad-band performance and an integrated camera. Productivity is sure to increase so the busy professional will never miss a beat when away from the office. And, with photo caller-ID, the ability to download games, musical ring tones and more, the model MPx220 promises that business executives can have some fun too.”
