New Details Emerge on Verizon’s LG Fathom Windows Phone

Several unconfirmed reports have indicated that Verizon Wireless is going to release the LG Fathom later this month, but a complete picture is just now emerging of this upcoming smartphone.

Previously, all that had leaked out about the Fathom was that it will run Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 and include a Touchscreen and a keyboard.

This will probably be one of the last devices released with Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, Microsoft has already unveiled Windows Phone 7, which will be an almost complete break from the earlier versions. It’s possible that the Triumph will be upgradeable to the next version, but if so it will be the only one.

The LG Fathom (VS750) will supposedly have a 3.2-inch WVGA (800 x 480) resistive Touchscreen in front of its sliding keyboard.

It will support Verizon’s voice and 3G network, and will also be able to connect to GSM voice and HSDPA high-speed data networks when roaming outside of the U.S..

This smartphone is also allegedly going to have Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth.

In addition, the Fathom’s leaked feature list includes a 3.2 megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot.

Physically, it is supposed to be 4.5 x 2.2 x 0.7 inches (115 x 56 x 17 mm) and 5.36 oz (152 g).

Verizon is allegedly going to release the LG Fathom later this month, but exactly when is not yet known.

Its price has also not yet leaked out.
