New Details on the Motorola Droid Shadow Come to Light

Recently, the world got its first look at the Motorola Droid Shadow. Now, new specifications and an additional image have come to light on this high-end Android OS smartphone supposedly headed for Verizon Wireless.

According to an unconfirmed report, the Droid Shadow will run Google’s mobile operating system on a 720 MHz OMAP 3630 processor from Texas Instruments.

Motorola Droid Shadow from VerizonIn addition, the Motorola model is allegedly going to include 8 GB of internal storage and be bundled with an 8 GB microSD memory card.

A new image clearly shows its HDMI video-out port, which will allegedly offer 1080p support.

Additional Details
The Motorola Droid Shadow will supposedly have a high-end feature set, starting with a 4.1-inch FWVGA (854×480) touchscreen — a display larger than any current Verizon phone.

It will have a tablet shape without a physical keyboard, and will reportedly be around 0.4 inches (9 mm) thick.

The leaked specifications list for the Droid Shadow also includes an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p video.

Motorola Droid Shadow from VerizonIt will debut running Google’s Android OS 2.1 on a Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 processor, and an upgrade to the new Android OS 2.2 is in the offing.

The Droid Shadow will also allegedly include a new version of MotoBlur, Motorola’s software that brings together messages from a range of social-networking services like Facebook and Twitter, text messages, as well as consumer and business email accounts, into a universal inbox.

All other specifications for this model remain unknown, but it’s likely to include the features that are typical in other high-end Android OS models, such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.

Coming this Summer
According to the information that has leaked out, the Motorola Droid Shadow is going to be released by Verizon Wireless in July.

The price hasn’t been revealed yet, but it will likely be close to what this carrier charges for similar smartphones: $200 with a two-year service contract.
