New Entry Level Palm OS PDA Coming to China

From what I can tell, this new model from Legend, the P300, was a concept device that will soon be sold in China to compete with the likes of the Tungsten E and Clie SJ25. The P300 features a 320 x 320 color screen, Palm OS 5.3SC, 200MHz processor and an interesting package.

The unit appears to be very small and probably light.

No, I don’t know what that yellow thing is.

The P300 relies on a virtual graffiti area and the four main hardware buttons, but also features a row of functional items at the base of the screen. This is certainly an interesting approach when it comes to offering more functions only a single stylus tap away. Here are the rumored specifications:

  • 3″ 320×320 TFT color screen
  • 200MHz Motorola processor
  • 16MB RAM
  • 8MB ROM
  • SecureDigital slot

We won’t see this device in the US or even Europe for that matter, but it’s fun to see what’s going on around the world. Thanks to Hi PDA for the pictures, they have eleven more on their site.
