For those who just can’t get enough of the Treo Nitro, a couple of new pictures of this upcoming smartphone have appeared.

Even though this device hasn’t yet been announced by Palm, Inc. and is currently known only by its code-name, this is the second group of pictures of it to appear in just a few days, a sure sign that the release of this device is getting nearer.

These latest images don’t reveal any significant new details on the Nitro, but at least they are the clearest so far.

An Overview of the Treo Nitro

Unannounced product or not, thanks to rumors and leaked information it’s possible to put together a fairly good description of the Treo Nitro.

This smartphone is expected to run the Palm OS and use the same basic form factor as previous Treos, a candybar design with a screen above a keyboard.

The speed of its processor is not yet known, but it will reportedly have 64 MG of internal storage, plus an SD card slot on its right side.

The Nitro will supposedly include a 0.3 megapixel camera and a 1200 mAh battery, not the 1800 mAh on in the 700 series.

As the first information on this device leaked from Cingular Wireless, it’s clear that this will be a GSM device, as that’s the wireless networking standard used by that carrier.  Beyond that, though, it’s not yet known what other wireless options the Nitro will offer.

This smartphone is currently expected to debut in October.
