The new Toshiba e330 was released in Germany today. This release came from out of the blue, and we don’t know if Toshiba plans to offer the e330 worldwide. Essentially the e330 is a step up from it’s brethren e310, it has an Intel 300MHz XScale processor and 64MB RAM placing it in between the e310 and e740 in the processing category.
ViewSonic broke news today about it’s $299.99 Pocket PC device that will have an Intel XScale 300 MHz processor. We believe that Toshiba will be using the e330 to compete with ViewSonic and will likely release this device in the U.S. at about the same price break of $299.99 – $350.00. The new e330 would have 64MB of RAM, matching that of the ViewSonic device which contains 64MB of RAM and 32MB ROM. Once again though, we don’t know for sure whether Toshiba plans to release this device soon in the U.S. or not and the $299.99 – $350.00 price is a guess based upon the fact they will have to use this price to compete with similar devices and price it below what the e740 can be bought for now.
