Language barriers on Twitter may be a thing of the past, at least for Windows Phone users. Twitter has released a major update to its Windows Phone app, launching a new feature that incorporates the abilities of Bing Translate.
The app update adds an automatic translation feature that uses Microsoft’s Bing Platform, which the company announced at its Build conference yesterday, to translate tweets that aren’t written in English. That being said, translated tweets won’t just show up in English on the timeline. Rather, users must click through to see the translated text.
The Twitter app update is available as a free download in the Windows Phone Store. Currently, there is no word from Twitter if the translation feature will be coming to Android or iOS anytime soon.
