Root Applications, a company that develops text-to-speech software, has released a new iOS and Android app called VoxDox, which converts text documents to audio files.

Users can convert text files such as word documents and PDFs, or entire books, using the camera on a mobile phone.

VoxDox will read the doc aloud in a voice preselected by the user. Root Applications says that the app can covert docs in more than 20 languages and can translate text as well.

VoxDox also has its own integrated social database so users can share their files with everyone else using the VoxDox application.

For those users who want to share with only a select few, Facebook integration allows them to do just that.
