Palm has begun selling the Zire
Palm has released the Zire for $99. David Christopher, senior director of product management for Palm sums up their audience, “They are not technophiles, they are actually technophobes.”

Panasonic has a new 1GB SD card coming out
At the Ceatec 2002 exhibition last week, Panasonic demo’d a new 1GB SD card.

Don’t expect to see this product in the near future though. Productions costs are still too high and Panasonic feels demand isn’t there yet. It could reach US shores in time for the Holiday season, next year. Future plans call for a 16GB card by 2005.

Veo has new SDIO and CF digital cameras
These new cameras from veo are due out in mid-October at a price of $100. The camera can take 24-bit full color photos in 640×480 resolution; includes automatic exposure; white balance and color control; and comes with a rugged travel case. The Veo Photo Traveler for Palm works with Palm OS versions 4.0, 4.1 and 5.0 on models with an SD expansion slot. No word yet if the SD model will support PPC.
