Nokia has announced three new phones geared toward messaging and social networking. They will feature different designs and software, but all are going to include full QWERTY keyboards and access to email, IM and social networking services.
The C6 is the more high-end model being unveiled today is , which will sport 3.2 inch Touchscreen and a slide-out, landscape-oriented keyboard. It will also have a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, and Ovi Maps with free walk and drive navigation.
In addition to email, it will offer access to Facebook feeds directly on the home screen, as well as full-featured web browser.
The Nokia C6 will be based on Symbian S60 5th Edition, giving it access to thousands of apps, from games and videos to news aggregators and web services, in the Ovi Store.
It is expected to be available in the second quarter of the year at an estimated price of EUR 220 ($300), before taxes and subsidies.
Following the tradition of the Nokia E72 and E63 is the Nokia E5. It has been created for people who want to use their phone for both their professional and personal lives, and combine business features with social networking and entertainment.
This Symbian S60 smartphone’s business features include access to more than 90% of the world’s corporate email systems through Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler and a variety of productivity applications are available in the Ovi Store.
The estimated price of the Nokia E5 is going to be EUR 180 ($245), before taxes and subsidies, with a release expected in the third quarter of the year.
The Nokia C3 will be the first Series 40 device with a full QWERTY keyboard and access to social networks directly on the home screen. This is going to allow users to view, comment, update their status and share pictures to services such as Facebook and Twitter.
With an estimated price of EUR 90 ($125), before taxes and subsidies, the Nokia C3 will also come with Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat, meaning first time users can set up email and chat accounts straight from the device, without needing a PC.
The C3 is going offer a 2.4-inch screen, Wi-Fi, a 2 megapixel camera and support for up to 8 GB of memory. It is likely going to be released in the second quarter and be available in a variety of colors, including golden white, slate gray and hot pink.
