A document leaking out of Nokia includes a reference to the Nokia N9, a smartphone that is expected to be the replacement for the Nokia N900.

The leaked document gives no details on the N9 besides its name, but many are expecting this model to be the first phone based on MeeGo, an operating system still in development by Intel and Nokia.

The MeeGo OS is being developed to run on Intel chips, so this device will certainly have a high-speed processor.

Aside from these sparce details, little is known about this upcoming model.

More About MeeGo
Earlier this year, Nokia and Intel announced that they are combining their Linux-based operating systems. Nokia’s Maemo is currently available on the N900, while and Intel’s Moblin was created for netbooks and tablets.

The resulting operating system, dubbed MeeGo,  will run on a range of mobile computers.

The first smartphones based on this new OS aren’t expected until the end of the year.
