Nokia has taken the wraps off of two pieces of software. The first being the official update to Ovi Maps to version 3.0 and the second an update to the social addressbook, Ovi Contacts.
Ovi Maps 3.0
Previously released as a beta, Ovi Maps 3.0 features a refined user interface, several bug fixes, and a new, API that allows developers to build applications onto Ovi Maps.
It features a drive and walk mode, supports syncing bookmarks and routes with the desktop browser version, and has a paid component which adds additional map features such as voice guidance and additional points of interest.
Ovi Maps 3.0 is compatible with Symbian S60 v3 and v5 devices. It requires a Windows-based PC to update to this version, as the Ovi Maps Loader application that come with the program is also new.

Ovi Contacts is a presence and IM-enabled extension to the Symbian S60 address book. In this latest release, it gains compatibility with additional S60v3 devices, and support for S60v5 devices (currently the Nokia N97 and 5800XM). It has also seen an improvement to its base contacts management system to allow for integration with future Ovi services.
Ovi Contacts on the N97 has the additional feature of showing the online status of users on the Contacts widget on the device’s homescreen. Clicking on a contact will open up a dialog box asking the user to call, message, or IM the contact (if online).
This is currently a beta application, though it does appear on the N86 and other recent models as the default contacts application.
