An unconfirmed report indicates that Nokia’s next multimedia-focused smartphone is going to be released by AT&T. Images of a Nokia X7 with the this carrier’s logo have appeared on the Web.
Details on the X7 are a bit sketchy at this point, as it has not yet been officially announced by Nokia or AT&T. Still, some information has leaked out.
The feature that has caught the most attention so far is the claim that this smartphone is going to have four built-in speakers. Like its predecessor, the Nokia X6, it will apparently have focus on music playback.
According to partial specifications lists that have leaked out, the X7 will be based on Symbian^3, the latest version of this operating system.
Images and video of it that have appeared on the Web show that it will have a tablet shape, and it will reportedly include a 360 × 640 touchscreen and an 8 megapixel camera.
The latest images to leak out clearly have the AT&T logo on them. If this isn’t a hoax, it means one of the top U.S. carriers is finally going to offer a high-end Nokia smartphone, a goal of Nokia’s for years.
When the Nokia X7 is going to be introduced, and what countries it will be offered beyond the United States, is not yet known.
Pricing is also still a mystery.
