Official Claims Galaxy S IV Will Run Fastest on Verizon

Samsung Galaxy S IVVerizon customers will likely find that the Samsung Galaxy S IV has been worth the wait, as the handset is expected to run faster on Big Red’s network than any other network.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Verizon Vice President of Network Support Mike Haberman said the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be the first smartphone to support Verizon’s Advanced Wireless Services (AWS), which should make it run faster than it could on AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint.

AWS is essentially a higher-speed frequency owned by Verizon to help the company increase the capacity of its LTE network and offer users higher data speeds. Verizon acquired the AWS airwaves from cable companies last year, and it claims devices running on the AWS frequency will have twice-as-fast data speeds.

Support of the AWS frequency will not be available immediately; rather users with a Samsung Galaxy S4 will have to update their software to enable it later on.
