In his keynote speech at the Consumer Electronics Show this week, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates showcased OQO’s model 02, the second generation of this company’s very small line of PC.
Weighing in at only one pound, the Model 02 is, according to OQO, the smallest computer capable of running Windows Vista.
In addition, the Model 02 is up to four times faster than its predecessor, the Model 01+ and it has a brighter display.
This computer’s new design features a 1.5 GHz processor from Via, and either a 30 GB or 60 GB hard drive.
Other model 02 features include:
- A new ergonomic backlit keyboard
- TouchScrollers for easy input and navigation.
- Wireless connectivity – including EV-DO, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth
- 5-inch Wide VGA LCD display
The Model 02 is available now with prices starting at $1,500, and OQO’s entire lineup can be customized to fit the needs of each user or organization.
