Papa John’s and Research in Motion (RIM) are offering a free BlackBerry 7100g to anyone who orders a pizza and some side items online.

There have been earlier promotions in which people can get free BlackBerries by buying plane tickets or other big-ticket items, but these were always for older models. The 7100g is one of RIM’s newest products and normally sells for $200.

Anyone interested in this deal should go to the Papa John’s web site, order a pizza, any side item, and two 20-oz. beverages.

To qualify, it is also necessary to sign up for two years of voice and data service.

More About the BlackBerry 7100g

The 7100 series are the first BlackBerries that don’t include a full keyboard. Instead, they merge a keyboard and a numberpad in a design created by RIM. Each key handles two letters, and the devices include predictive text software.

BlackBerry 7100G Leaving off a full keyboard allows the 7100 series to be smaller than other BlackBerry models.

The 7100g is a Quad-Band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM/GPRS device, which means it can be used in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and just about anywhere in the world.

In addition, it includes Bluetooth, which allows it to be used with wireless headsets.

Of course, this smartphone runs RIM’s proprietary operating system. It has 32 MB of RAM and doesn’t include a memory card slot.

According to RIM, the swappable battery in the 7100 series is good for up to 8 days (192 hours) of standby time and 4 hours of talk time.

Other BlackBerry 7100 series models are available from a variety of carriers around the world.

More information about this series of BlackBerry smartphones is available on RIM’s web site.
