Palm and Orange France Announce Treo 680

When it was first introduced, the Treo 680 was touted by Palm as a global device, and some recent announcements have proved that fact.

The most recent country that this smartphone sets foot into is France, where it will be offered by Orange. Besides its well known PIM and phone features, this new version also includes tie-ins with the Orange Business Mail offering.

This smartphone greatly resembles previous Treos, but does not need the unpopular external antenna that those models had to have. It is also be thinner that its predecessors.

The 680 runs Palm OS Garnet, and includes 64 MB of user-available storage.

It is a GSM quad-band smartphone with support for GPRS and EDGE. It also includes Bluetooth.

Naturally, this Treo includes a suite of PIM applications — Address Book, Calendar, To-Do list. It is also bundled with a suite of applications that will allow users to view and edit Microsoft Office documents.

An SD slot for additional storage and a 0.3 megapixel camera are also part of this model.
