Palm Devices and Large-Capacity SD Cards

by Reads (15,260)

Palm, Inc. engineers have tested whether many of their company’s recent handhelds and smartphones can use high-capacity SD cards.

The results of these tests have been posted on the Palm web site.

They confirmed that 2 gigabyte SD, MMC, and SDIO cards will work with the LifeDrive, Treo 650, Treo 600, Tungsten T5, and Zire 72.

The engineers also proved that 1 gigabyte SD, MMC, and SDIO cards will work with the Tungsten E2, Tungsten T3, Tungsten T2, Tungsten T, Zire 71, and Zire 31.

They say that 1 GB is the highest-capacity cards that will work with this second group because of the file system used by these models, and those that came before them.

Thanks to Palm Infocenter for the tip.
