As a way of encouraging more developers to create applications for the Treo 700 and 750 series, the Palm Developer Network is now holding the Treo Windows Mobile Challenge Contest.

To take part in this, participants will need to develop a new Windows Mobile application or port an existing application to the Windows Mobile platform.

Entries will be judged on

  • Concept originality
  • General usability of the application
  • Specific utility to mobile phone users
  • Reliability and compatibility
  • "Wow" factor of graphical look and feel

Four finalists and one grand prize winner will be chosen on June 7 at Microsoft’s Tech Ed conference.

The finalists will get an XBOX 360, the Windows Mobile Treo of their choice, and lots of free publicity for their application. The grand prize winner will receive all that plus $10,000.

More information on the Treo Windows Mobile Challenge Contest can be found on the Palm Developer Network web site.
