Palm to Announce the Tungsten T2 Tomorrow

This is of no shock to our regular readers. The T2 secret has not been kept well, pictures have been out for a month and now we’re already seeing what the T3 has in store. All that aside, the T2 will offer a number of improvements and a reasonable price tag.

From the CNET report, “The new device will be available starting Wednesday and will cost $399. The line will continue to stress multimedia capabilities by including a built-in digital audio player and speaker, but it also comes with twice the memory, 32MB, of the previous Tungsten T model. The device will use Texas Instruments’ 144MHz OMAP1510 processor and version 5.2 of the Palm operating system. The Tungsten T2 will come with a color screen that has a resolution of 320 pixels by 320 pixels as well as integrated Bluetooth technology–which will allow the device to connect to other portable devices, such as phones and notebooks. “

The screen and memory upgrades are great. I can’t wait to see the new screen side-by-side my old one. It’s been a very long ride, but this release means my TT will officially see the end of its time with me. Nothing else in the Palm world has been able to displace it over the past 6 or so months, so this is a big step. At least all my cases and peripherals will work!
