PalmSource Gives Additional Details on Upcoming Developers Conference

PalmSource has released more details on its Developers Conference scheduled for this spring.

This will be held May 23 through 26 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California.

PalmSource will highlight its product roadmap for feature phones and Linux, leveraging its recent acquisition of China MobileSoft (CMS), a Chinese mobile phone software company.

In addition, PalmSource will release the latest information on Palm OS Cobalt. It will also give attendees opportunities to learn more about the latest handhelds and smartphones from Palm OS licensees.

Logo This year the company has added a Mobile Summit. This has been designed to identify and explore new worldwide business opportunities for developers, licensees, operators, and industry partners; showcase state-of-the-art wireless applications for smartphones; and provide training and instruction on developing for the Palm OS platform.

The conference will also include:

  • Palm OS Wireless Application Development Training Course: this multi-day training course is for experienced C, C++ programmers to learn about wireless protocols and functions. The course includes extensive hands-on labs.
  • A state-of-the-art Hardware Lab staffed with PalmSource engineers: featuring the latest Palm Powered(TM) devices the Hardware Lab provides “hands-on” access to a complete line of Palm Powered devices for testing and debugging.
  • Palm OS Certified Developer Exam: the official PalmSource exam will be provided free-of-charge. A passing grade designates an “expert” developer allows the use of the Palm OS Certified Developer logo and a listing on palmsource.com.
  • Meet PalmSource Partners Session: a roundtable session dedicated to industry networking. A chance to get up close and personal with industry leaders to discuss hot topics in an intimate setting.

Pricing and Registration

Registration for the conference is now open. The price until April 1 is $399, after which it jumps up to $699. A Companion Pass for additional attendees from the same company is $199.
