Palm m500 and m505 owners will soon be able to surf the Web using a snap-on, universal PC Card adapter called Guyver. The attachment is basically a sled with a PC Card interface that snaps on to the back of the Palm. When the appropriate PC Card is inserted into the card slot, Guyver can connect to various networks including General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA).

RealVision, a Hong Kong wireless technology provider, developed Guyver. The product was unveiled at this week’s PC Expo trade show, which is part of Technology Exchange Week New York. Dominique Tu, RealVision’s business development director, said that with the appropriate drivers installed, Guyver can work with other PC cards such as IBM’s Microdrive Storage device. Guyver is expected to be launched worldwide toward the end of the third quarter for about $150.
