Asus A620 bundles from PROPortable

PROPortable is celebrating the holiday season by bundling the Asus A620 PocketPC with a variety of accessories at a reduced price. Packages include:

‘Roadwarrior’ kit with GPS, car charger, car cradle, travel sync cable, and spare styli.

‘Pro Gamer’ package with leather case, WiFi card, styli, and copies of PDAmill’s space-combat game Anthelion and action game Snails.

‘Student’ package contains foldable keyboard for A620, leather case, styli, WiFi card, and copy of PDAmill Gamebox Classics.

‘Sales Presentation’ package includes VGA output card, remote control, styli, foldable keyboard, and leather case.

Each package is offered with either the A620, or the A620BT. The latter has an additional 32 MB of flash ROM and built-in Bluetooth wireless. The Asus A620 family is the thinnest PocketPC to incorporate a built-in CompactFlash slot, at just 0.51″, and features a significantly above average 1300 milliamp-hour battery, both of which are very impressive in such a small form-factor.

Update on Axim X3i story

We mentioned last week that some of the Dell Axim X3is that were listed for $79 had reportedly shipped to their buyers. We can now confirm this thanks to AximSite member LkyOldSun, who scanned the packing slip from his order.

Coupon for 15% off JAVOedge accessories

The holiday shopping coupons just keep rolling in. JAVOedge is offering 15% off any purchase of PDA and cell phone accessories when you use coupon code 15P120603. Valid items include styli, leather cases, clear cases, sync/charge cables, and screen protectors.

PocketMac Backup utility

The rare Macintosh-dwelling PocketPC user has just gained protected species status–the makers of PocketMac, a PPC/Macintosh sync program, have introduced PocketMac Backup. The program allows Mac users to backup and restore all or part of their PocketPC’s data directly to their Mac, rather than using applications on the PocketPC itself to backup to flash memory. It can also save the backups as a Mac-style disk image for archiving. The program supports PocketPC 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003, and requires PocketMac 3 or other PPC/Mac sync software.
