Astraware releases GTS Racing Challenge for PocketPC
Astraware, maker of fine games, has ported their Palm racing game to PocketPCs. With 32 tracks across four difficulty levels, three cars, and lush 3D graphics, it’s a natural hit for speedy, graphics-rich PocketPCs. Now, if they’ll just port Ricochet, I’ll be a very happy man.
NZ and TG cases from Vaja and Proporta
Today’s entrants into the parade of cases are a custom leather case from Vaja for the NZ90, and a aluminum case for the TG50 from Proporta.
Textmaker coming to Palm OS
Softmaker, creators of the popular natively MS Word compatible Textmaker application for PocketPCs, have stated that they are working on a version of the program for Palm-powered handhelds, though there is no planned release date. This would be the first program on the Palm OS to support both reading from and writing to MS Word format.
Fossil watch delayed
According to Amazon.com, the ship date for the Fossil Palm OS watch has slipped to September 30th, an additional blow to an already questionably viable product.
Toshiba launches new DRM initiative
Toshiba has created a new Digital Rights Management system based upon an encrypted SD card. The system is intended to allow access to content on any system that features an SD slot.
Mark my words, this too will crash and burn. They still don’t get the fact that if they insist on these inane rituals of copy-protection, people will simply stay away in droves.
