There have been rumors floating around for a week or so about an upcoming low-cost phone from HTC, but more questions than answers are available on this model at this point.
Muddying the waters is a new report coming out of Asia saying that HTC is working on a phone running Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile Platform (BMP). This typically powers featurephones, but HTC will reportedly pair it with one of its in-house user interfaces for touchscreen-based smartphones: TouchFLO 3D or HTC Sense.
It’s possible the Click is this BREW-based device, as both are rumored to be entry-level models coming in the near future from HTC.
Assuming these separate reports are actually talking about a single model, this device will supposedly have 3G support and a “high profile”, probably meaning it will be released in multiple countries around the world.
