In the past few days, images and details of several future Motorola models with Google’s Android OS have come out of Asia. The latest of these has a slightly unusual design, and is apparently headed for release in China.
All have a tablet shape, large touchscreen (either 3.7 or 3.8 inch) and will supposedly run Android 2.0 or 2.1.
The most recent variation has bulge on its lower right side (shown here); the purpose for this is not yet clear. One of the images of this device shows it will have a 5 megapixel camera.
This model is reportedly being prepped for the wireless service provider China Unicom, where is will be called the XT701.
The Other Versions
The first upcoming Motorola phone to leak out this week will supposedly have an 8 MPx camera and an HDMI video-out port.
The leaked images of the second device show that it will look a great deal like the latest model, but without the bulge. The description indicates it will also have an 8 MPx camera.
All of these are apparently being developed as keyboard-less versions of the Motorola Droid, and will therefore have much in common with this model now being offered by Verizon in the U.S.
According to information that has leaked out of Motorola, at least one of these models is headed for T-Mobile USA. Which version is not yet known, and neither is a release date.
When and where the other variations are going to be introduced, aside from the China Unicom device, has not yet been revealed.
