Pocket MSN has now entered public beta testing. The new service, designed for Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC and Smartphone devices, offers many popular MSN features in a mobile format. Users have one-click access to MSN Hotmail and Messenger, as well as the ability to receive MSN Alerts and browse MSN web sites such as Maps & Directions.
Hotmail messages are integrated into the device’s Inbox, and the MSN toolbar shows how many new messages have been received. Users can also read and compose email offline, and send email to MSN Messenger contacts who are offline. Filters and preferences allow users to receive new mail only from selected contacts.
Pocket MSN is free for the first six months as part of the trial program. In order to continue using the service after the first six months, a subscription fee of $24.99 for each six months is required.
For more information, or to join in the trial program, visit the Pocket MSN web site.
