Pocket Player aims to increase the ability to enjoy multimedia on Windows Mobile devices. It has recently been updated, bringing several improvements and new features.

Pocket Player 3.7The new version, Pocket Player 3.7, has an enhanced engine which improves media scanning times and gives fewer track-to-track delays when listening to music. The media browser has also been refined, and is now fully configurable, allowing control over browsing behaviors, such as whether to include local content, network content, or both in the media listings. Context-sensitive touch gestures, such as swiping left-to-right on an item, or touch-and-holding on an item have also been added to the user interface.

Pocket Player’s media library now supports reading embedded lyrics in music tracks trough a bundled Lyrics plug-in. There is also increased support for all styles of Bluetooth headsets: mono, stereo, and hybrid headsets including AVRCP Bluetooth controls. And a new version of the Universal Plug-and-Play (UPnP) plug-in addresses previous stream connection and browsing issues, and introduces several UPnP-specific features.
