Microsoft Corp. today launched Streets & Trips 2004, an updated version of its popular travel and mapping application for Windows. This comes with a copy of Pocket Streets 2004 for Pocket PCs.

Streets & Trips 2004 Streets & Trips 2004 offers more than 6.7 million miles of local, city, state and highway roads in the United States and Canada. These maps can be downloaded from the Windows version onto the Pocket PC. Users can then look up addresses on the handheld, plus pan and zoom the map, and use pushpins.

In addition, Pocket Streets can work with a GPS receiver to show the user’s location on the map. The latest version offers a much faster refresh rate than previous ones. A GPS device running NMEA 2.0 or later is required.

It also integrates with the built-in applications, allowing the user to easily display on a map the address associated with a Contact, for example.

Streets & Trips 2004 is available now for $39.95 from Microsoft. Pocket Streets 2004 is included with this price.
