MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — PocketSensei announced today the release of version 1.5 of the VideoHound’s Golden Movie Retriever for Palm Powered handhelds and smartphones. 2005 VideoHound represents the most in-depth and full-featured movie guide ever created for the Palm OS platform.

The print edition of VideoHound’s Golden Movie Retriever is the definitive resource of movie-industry insiders, providing over 26,000 movie reviews with ratings from “WOOF!” to four bones. In addition it contains comprehensive cast, director, writer, cinematographer and composer indexes with complete filmographies. PocketSensei has taken the entire contents of the irreverent, encyclopedia-sized video guide and given it the mobility of your Palm Powered device.

PocketSensei’s VideoHound offers multiple ways to find just the right video with a powerful search function and exclusive movie category indexes ranging from “Dates from Hell” and “Nuns with Guns” to “Aliens Are People, Too” and “Teen Angst.” Additional features include: bi-monthly updates, extensive hyperlinks, a state-of-the-art navigator and even the “Movie Pick of the Day” selected from the highest rated films of all-time.

VideoHound is also a dedicated video-collection manager with means to record cost and purchase details, loan and rental records, technical information, notes and even stills from favorite movies or images of cast and crew. Users may create their own customized lists of films such as Favorites, Must See Movies or Gift Ideas.

In addition to updating all of the movie reviews for the 2005 edition of VideoHound, version 1.5 introduces the ability to attach JPEG images and WAV files to movie listings. REX (review expansion library) adds movie reviews for every single entry in addition to the ratings.

“VideoHound, quite simply, brings to Palm Powered devices the world’s most exhaustive, sophisticated and stylish movie guide,” said president Bohm S. Kim. “Anyone who rents, buys, watches, studies or even thinks about film is going to fall in love with this product. VideoHound is the ideal companion whether you’re at the local video rental store, surfing on-line for purchases or simply on the couch catching a late-night flick. It is also a great trivia source for on the road or Friday night’s poker game.”

“We believe VideoHound is the ultimate reference tool when you are standing in the video rental store trying to decide what movie to watch” said Larry Berkin, director of developer marketing, PalmSource, Inc.

The VideoHound Golden Movie Retriever costs $14.95 and is available now at http://www.pocketsensei.com/videohound.htm. REX costs $12.95 and is also available from PocketSensei.
