Even before the first Windows Mobile Treo launched earlier this year, there have been rumors of a version of this smartphone running the Palm OS.
Now the best evidence so far has emerged to show that this smartphone might really exist.
Recently, pictures and a description of the Treo 700p have were posted in the TreoCentral forums.
Not surprisingly, this device will greatly resemble the Treo 700w, but with some of the buttons re-assigned.
Unlike the Windows Mobile version, though, this one will have a 320-by-320-pixel display.
Under the Hood
The source of this rumor says that the Treo 700p will run Palm OS Garnet 5.4.9.
It will include about 63 MB of Storage available to the user, which is far more memory than is in its predecessor, the Treo 650.
As it is supposedly going to be offered by Sprint, this smartphone will be CDMA, and will support that carrier’s EV-DO network.
It will have Bluetooth 2.0 but not Wi-Fi.
If this information is legitimate, it is not clear when the Treo 700p will debut or at what price.
